My menu doesn’t appear on my portal

Check, in this order:
  1. Is it published? Open Digital menus and check the Visible switch on the menu’s row (it’s the Published switch inside the editor). This is the cause nine times out of ten.
  2. Does the menu have content? An interactive menu with no dish shows “This menu is being prepared”.
  3. Are the dishes visible? A dish with Visible on the menu turned off is removed from the page. A whole category can end up looking empty that way.
  4. Are your portal links customised? If you edited them in Settings → Portal → Links, make sure the Menus link is still active there.

“View page” shows a not found error

The preview opens the real public page, and an unpublished menu has no public page. Turn on Published, then click View page again.

The PDF import failed

The red banner in the editor gives the reason, and a Retry button. Common causes:
The editor showing an extraction failure banner with a Retry button, and an empty menu

A failed import launched with “Replace current content” — the old dishes are already gone.

If you launched the import with Replace current content on, your previous categories and dishes were deleted before the import ran — a failure leaves the menu empty. Retry refills it. Nothing is lost when Replace was off.
If the banner stays on extraction in progress for more than a few minutes, reload the page. If it is still there afterwards, contact us — the import is stuck and we’ll unblock it.

Can I convert a PDF menu into an interactive one?

No — the type is chosen once, at creation, and can’t be changed afterwards. Create a new interactive menu, then delete the PDF one once you’re happy with it.
The new menu has its own link and its own QR code. QR codes you already printed for the PDF menu will stop working when you delete it, so reprint them before you switch over.

Are the allergens shown to guests reliable?

They are exactly what you entered — nothing more. Our AI import only picks up allergens your PDF explicitly declares, and never guesses them from ingredients. The guest page shows a disclaimer inviting guests to inform your team, but the accuracy of the information is your responsibility.

A dish ran out mid-service

Click the button on its row in the editor. The dish stays on the menu, greyed out and marked Unavailable today. Click again to bring it back. See out of stock vs. hidden.

Do I have to translate my menu myself?

No. A menu imported from a PDF is translated into the portal’s six languages during the import. The Translate all button is there for the edge cases: a translation that failed, or a lot of dishes added by hand afterwards.

Will “Translate all” overwrite my translations?

No. It only fills the languages that are still empty. Anything you typed or corrected yourself is left untouched — you can run it as often as you like. A field’s ✨ button does regenerate the other languages, and that is the point: it is how you refresh a translation that went stale after you reworded the original. The language shown on screen is never touched.

Who can create and edit menus?

Anyone with the Manage menus (QR Code) permission. Owners, Managers and Marketing managers have it by default; for a custom role, tick it in the collaborator’s permissions. See Permissions.

I deleted a menu by mistake

Deletion is permanent — the menu, its categories, its dishes, its link and its QR code are gone. You’ll have to recreate it (and reprint the QR codes).

How many menus can I have?

As many as you want, of either type, published or not. Every visible menu appears in the Menus dropdown of your portal, and an interactive menu page also links to your other interactive menus, just under its title.
