# Promotions on booking slots

> Show a discount over a period and understand the settings’ limits.

Open **Settings → Availability → Discounts** to offer a promotion on selected
days and times.

## Configure a promotion

1. Add a promotion and enable it.
2. Enter the **discount percentage**.
3. Set the start date, optional end date, weekdays and time range.
4. Write the **custom message** to explain the offer’s conditions.
5. Check the preview and save.

For example, offer 10% on Tuesday arrivals between 19:00 and 19:30 to encourage
earlier bookings. A promotion does not create seats: the shift must still be
bookable.

## Cover cap: current limitation

The form offers **Limit covers per day**. This value is saved, but the current
portal flow does not count down that cap to stop offering the promotion. Do not
use it as a guaranteed promotional quota. Contact EatNow if the offer must stop
after an exact number of covers.

## What the customer sees

The slot shows the applicable promotion and its message. Describe any exclusions
clearly; displaying a percentage does not prove that a payment or POS bill has
already been discounted.

## The promotion is missing

Check activation, dates, weekday, time and shift availability. Avoid overlapping
promotions: the portal selects an applicable promotion, rather than
automatically adding their percentages. Deactivate an offer to stop proposing it
without deleting its configuration.
