# Share and embed

> Your booking link, the ready-made links for social networks, the widget for your website (embedded or floating), source tracking and the QR code.

Everything you need to send guests to your booking portal is in one block at the top of **Settings > Portal > General**, called **Links to the reservation portal**. It is open by default; click its title to fold it away.

Nothing in this block needs saving: every link and code snippet is generated for you, and you only copy what you need. Fields have a copy icon on their right (it turns into a green tick once copied); code snippets have a **Copy** link that switches to **Copied**.

<Note>
  The **General** tab only appears for restaurants with table reservations enabled.
</Note>

## Main link

The **Main link** is the address of your booking portal:

```
https://book.eat-now.io/your-restaurant
```

The last part is your restaurant's **Slug**. Use this link anywhere you want people to book: your Google Business Profile, your email signature, a WhatsApp reply, your website's "Book" button.

<Warning>
  The link is built from the **Slug** set in **Settings > Restaurant**. If you change the slug, the app asks you to confirm (**Name change**), then every link, widget code and QR code on this page changes with it. Links you already shared and QR codes you already printed keep the old address: replace them.
</Warning>

## Links for social networks

Under **Links for social networks**, six versions of your main link are ready to copy, one per network, identified by their icon. Each one adds a short label to the address:

| Network | Link ends with | Source recorded on the reservation |
| - | - | - |
| Facebook | `?s=fb` | Facebook |
| Instagram | `?s=ig` | Instagram |
| WhatsApp | `?s=wa` | WhatsApp |
| TikTok | `?s=tt` | TikTok |
| TripAdvisor | `?s=ta` | TripAdvisor |
| Snapchat | `?s=sc` | Snapchat |

The portal is exactly the same for the guest. The difference is on your side: a reservation made through one of these links is saved with that network as its **source**. You see it on the reservation (with the network's icon) and in the **Customers > By source** report. A guest who simply types your portal's address is recorded as *Website*.

Paste each link where it belongs: the Instagram one in your bio, the Facebook one on your page's button, the WhatsApp one in your business profile or quick replies, the TripAdvisor one as your website link on your listing.

<Note>
  These short links only fill the reservation's **source**. They are not the campaign links described in [Source tracking](/marketing/source-tracking):

  * the label is only read during that visit. It is not remembered if the guest leaves and comes back to book later, whereas a tagged link (`?utm_source=…`) is remembered for 30 days;
  * they carry no medium or campaign name.

  To measure a specific post, ad or campaign, create a tagged link with **Customers > By campaign > Tracking link** instead.
</Note>

<Tip>
  Only use these links **as they are**, pointing at your portal. Don't add `?s=ig` to your own website's address: the widgets below ignore it. On your own site, use a tagged link (`yoursite.com/?utm_source=instagram`).
</Tip>

## Put the portal on your website

Two integrations are available. Pick one.

| | **Widget** (embedded) | **Floating widget** |
| - | - | - |
| What guests see | The full booking page, inside one page of your site | A booking button in a bottom corner of every page; clicking it opens the booking page in a panel |
| Where you paste it | In the page where the booking form should appear | Once, on every page of your site (site-wide code) |
| Source tracking from your site | Needs the **Source tracking for the widget** script as well | Included |
| Customisation | None | Corner and button text |

### Widget

The **Widget** code embeds your portal in a page of your site, typically a "Book a table" page. It looks like this:

```html theme={null}
<div class="eatnow-widget">
  <iframe src="https://book.eat-now.io/your-restaurant?widget=true" width="100%" style="height:100vh;border:0" title="Reservation" loading="lazy"></iframe>
  <p style="text-align:center;margin-top:8px;font-size:13px;color:#667085">
    Reservations powered by <a href="https://eat-now.io" target="_blank" rel="noopener" style="color:#475467;font-weight:600;text-decoration:none">EatNow</a>
  </p>
</div>
```

Copy it from the app rather than from this page: it already contains your own address. Paste it into an HTML or "embed code" block of your website builder.

* The frame takes the full height of the screen (`height:100vh`). You can change that value if it doesn't fit your layout.
* Because the portal is inside your site, the **Website** link is hidden from the portal header, and the **Privatization** and **Activities** links open in a new tab so the guest isn't trapped inside the frame. See [Header links](/portal/header-links).

### Source tracking for the widget

An embedded frame cannot see your page's address. So if a visitor lands on `yoursite.com/?utm_source=instagram` and then books in the widget, that source is lost, unless you also add the **Source tracking for the widget** script:

```html theme={null}
<script src="https://book.eat-now.io/tracker.js" async></script>
```

Add it to **every page** of your site, not only the booking page: the visitor may arrive on your home page and book later. On Wix, paste it in *Settings > Custom Code* with *All pages*, not in an "Embed HTML" block.

You don't need it with the floating widget, which already does the same job. How sources are then recorded and reported is explained in [Source tracking](/marketing/source-tracking).

### Floating widget

The **Floating widget** adds a booking button in a bottom corner of your site. When clicked, a panel opens with your booking page. Visitors book without leaving the page they are on.

Before copying the code, choose:

| Setting | Options | Default |
| - | - | - |
| **Position** | **Bottom right** or **Bottom left** | **Bottom right** |
| **Button label** | Any text, for example *Reserve now* | Empty: the button shows *Book a table*, translated into your site's language (English, French, German, Spanish, Italian or Portuguese; French if the language can't be detected) |

The code updates as you change them. For example:

```html theme={null}
<script src="https://book.eat-now.io/embed.js" data-eatnow="your-restaurant" data-color="#EB5E0B" data-position="bottom-right" data-label="Reserve now" async></script>
```

Paste it once in the site-wide code area of your website builder, so that it runs on every page.

What your visitors get:

* The button uses your portal's **primary color** (from [Design](/portal/design)), with black or white text depending on what reads best.
* On a computer the panel opens in the corner; on a phone it takes the full screen. It closes with the cross, by clicking outside it, or with the Escape key.
* The panel never closes by itself after a booking, so the guest always sees their confirmation. The confirmation page shows a **Close** button that closes the panel and brings them back to your site. This button only appears in the floating widget, not in the embedded **Widget**.
* The booking page only loads on the first click, so the button doesn't slow down your site.
* A *Reservations powered by EatNow* line sits at the bottom of the panel.
* Tagged links pointing to your site (`?utm_source=…`) are remembered for 30 days and passed on to the booking automatically.

<Tip>
  **Position** and **Button label** are not saved: they only shape the code you copy. The color is also copied into the code at that moment. If you later change your primary color in **Design**, copy the code again and replace it on your site.
</Tip>

## QR Code

**Download QR Code** saves a PNG image named after your restaurant (for example `Le Bistrot-qr-code.png`). It opens your **Main link**, with no source label.

Print it on table tents, flyers, the bill or your window.

<Tip>
  This QR code carries no source label, so reservations made after scanning it are recorded as *Website*. To measure a flyer campaign, create a tagged link (for example with `utm_medium=qr_code`) with **Customers > By campaign > Tracking link**, then turn that link into a QR code with the tool of your choice.
