# Header links
> Choose which links appear at the top of your booking portal (website, phone, menus, contact, privatization, activities, your own links) and in what order.
Under your logo and name, your booking portal shows a row of links: your website, your phone number, your menus, a contact card… You choose which ones appear and in what order in **Settings > Portal > Links** (page **Portal links**).
## Where guests see them
The links appear at the top of every page of your restaurant's portal:
* the booking page;
* the reservation page a guest opens from their confirmation, and the payment, modification and feedback pages;
* your interactive menu pages;
* the privatization request form.
On a computer they sit on one line, separated by dots. On a phone they are arranged in two columns as soon as there are more than two.
The **activities portal** has its own header, which ignores this tab: it always shows **Website**, **Phone**, **Instagram** (each when the information exists) and **Contact**.
## The built-in links
Seven links are built in. Each one shows up on the portal only when it is switched on **and** the information it needs exists:

The link names are translated automatically into the guest's language. You cannot rename a built-in link; if you need a different wording, switch it off and add a custom link instead.
When the widget embeds your portal in your own website, **Privatization** and **Activities** open in a new tab, so the guest doesn't end up browsing inside the frame (see [Share and embed](/portal/share-and-embed)).
### When information is missing
In the list, a built-in link whose information is missing is greyed out, with an orange badge telling you what to fill in: **No website configured**, **No phone number**, **No Instagram account**, **No visible menus**, **Privatization disabled** or **Activate your activities portal first**. Its switch is locked until you fix it.
A **Website** or **Instagram** address saved without `http://` or `https://` opens with `https://` added; one that already starts with `http://` is opened as it is.
## Turn links on or off and reorder them
* Use the switch on each row to show or hide the link.
* Drag a row by its handle (on the left) to move it. The order of the list is the order on the portal.
* On a large screen, the **Preview** on the left shows the header as it will look, with your portal's colors and logo.
* Click **Save** to publish. Nothing changes on the portal until you do.
Until you save this tab for the first time, all seven links are switched on and the portal shows every one whose information exists.
Once saved, the portal shows exactly the links you switched on. If you switch every link off and save, the header shows no links at all, only your logo and name.
## Custom links
Add links to any other page: Facebook, TripAdvisor, Google Maps, your gift card shop, an event page…
1. Click **Add link** below the list.
2. In the **Add link** window, fill in:
* **Label**: the text guests see. Pick a language in the selector on the left and type it; the sparkle button (**Auto translate**) fills the other languages from the one shown.
* **URL**: the address of the page, for example `www.facebook.com/yourrestaurant`. If you leave out `https://`, it is added for you; an address that already starts with `http://` or `https://` is kept as typed. You can also link an email address (`mailto:contact@yourrestaurant.com`, or just `contact@yourrestaurant.com`) or a phone number (`tel:+33 1 23 45 67 89`). Anything else (a single word, another kind of link…) shows **Enter a valid web address** under the field, and **Add** stays disabled.
3. Click **Add**. The link joins the bottom of the list, switched on, with a **Custom** badge.
4. Drag it where you want it, then click **Save**.
Use the pencil to change a custom link (**Edit link** window, **Update** button) and the bin to remove it. Both only take effect when you click **Save**.
Custom links to a web page open in a new tab; an email or phone link opens the guest's mail app or dialer.
Fill in the label in at least **English** and **French**. Guests see the label in their own language; if it is missing, they see the English one, then the French one.
A custom link saved before addresses were checked, whose address can't be opened, shows an orange **Invalid URL** badge and is not shown on the portal. Fix its URL with the pencil: the tab can't be saved until you do.
## Undo your changes
**Reset** discards everything you changed since the last save (after a confirmation) and puts the list back as it was saved. It does not restore the original default links.
If your role doesn't allow editing the portal, the switches, drag handles and edit buttons are locked, **Add link** is hidden, and the save button reads **Action not authorized**.
